延边大学法学院创建于2003年7月，其前身是1986年建立的延边大学经济法律系法学专业。经过二十多年的建设与发展，法学院已成为吉林省重要的法学教育与研究基地。
    法学院拥有宪法与行政法学、民商法学硕士学位授权点。目前，法学院在全面推进法学专业建设的基础上，力求办出自己的特色。现在初步显现的特色是：在宪法与行政法学研究中，民族自治地区法律制度的完善与发展研究，具有多年学术积淀和优势，这是法学院基础最雄厚的学科，它已被列为学校重点发展的学科。另外，近几年来，法学院利用地域优势和教师的语言优势，在日本、韩国、朝鲜法律的比较法研究方面取得了一定的研究成果。
    法学院现有25位教师，其中教授5人、副教授9人、讲师5人；具有博士学位的6人，具有硕士学位的17人；有海外访问、进修经历的20人。法学院在校生规模近700人，其中法学硕士生170多人，本科生500多人。
    实践教学是法学院本科教学的一大特色，法学院在州内各县市的法院、检察院设立实践教学基地，有力地推动了应用型法律人才的培养。法学院还拥有设备先进、功能齐备的模拟法庭，可举办刑事、民事以及行政诉讼案件庭审的模拟演示。
    法学院非常重视对外交流与合作，实现对外交流与合作的三个面向：面向海外、面向国内高校、面向国家司法机关。与中国人民大学法学院、吉林大学法学院保持着密切的学术交流与合作；与州和各县市的司法局、政府法制机构、法院、检察院等司法部门保持着人才培养和科研合作关系；与日本、韩国、朝鲜的多个大学和研究机构保持着经常性的人员和学术交流关系。自1995年起，学院每年选派优秀学生到日本、韩国的法学院校学习，合作培养人才。   
    展望未来，延边大学法学院将继承学风活跃、治学严谨的优良传统，团结奋斗，同心同德，本着凝练学科方向、培养专业人才、打造研究平台、奉献研究成果的建设思路，充分发挥学院优势，提高人才培养质量，致力于社会主义新型高素质人才的全面塑造，把法学院建设成省内一流，国内知名，具有鲜明学科特色的法学人才培养与科学研究基地。
Summary of Law School
Law School of Yanbian University was founded in July, 2003. Its predecessor was Economic and Law Department which was founded in 1986. Since its foundation, Law School has recruited undergraduates and junior college students of legal science major and international economic law major. Nowadays, Law School recruits more than 100 undergraduates every year. Through more than twenty years’ development, Law School has been one of legal science education and research key bases in Jilin Province.
In 1986, Constitution and Administrative Law major acquired the award right for master degree. In 2000, Civil Law and Commercial Law major acquired the award right for master degree. On the base of comprehensively constructing legal science major, Law School is endeavoring to have its characteristic. Now, its preliminary characteristic is: in aspect of Constitution and Administrative Law major, law system research of national autonomy area has lots of years’ academic accumulation and superiority. Constitution and Administrative Law major is the most abundant base discipline for Law School and ranked a key developmental discipline by Yanbian University. Moreover, in recent years Law School makes advantage of region and teachers’ language, which has acquired certain research achievements in the aspect of comparison law among Japan, South Korea and North Korea.
At present, Law School has 32 faculties, including 6 professors, 8 associate professors. 6 faculties have the doctor degree, and 19 faculties have master degree. 20 faculties have experience of visiting and furthering education in overseas. Law School has nearly 700 students, including 170 postgraduates and 527 undergraduates.
Practice teaching is a characteristic of undergraduate course teaching for Law School. Now, Law School has established practice teaching bases in every cities and counties of Yanbian autonomous region, which promotes the training of the legal talents of practical type. Law School still has a simulation court which has advanced equipments and complete functions, where Law School can hold simulation trials of criminal case, civil case and administrative lawsuit case. Since 1995, Law School has selected and sent a lot of excellent students to law schools in Japan and South Korea, which enriches the students’ experience of studying in overseas.
Law School pays attention to exchanging and cooperating with foreign countries very much and realizes the “three facings”: facing overseas, facing domestic colleague, facing state agency. Law school maintains close academic exchange and cooperation with Law School of Renmin University of China and Law School of Jilin University; maintains relations of fostering the talents and academic cooperation with judicial bureau, ** legal system organization, court and procuratorate in Yanbian autonomous region; maintains personnel and academic exchange with Japanese, South Korean and North Korean universities and research institutes.
Looking forward, Law School of Yanbian University will inherit and carry forward fine traditions of active academic atmosphere and preciseness of teaching, take full advantage of itself, enhance level and quality of training the talents, serve for the construction of country law system, make itself be the first grade university in Jilin Province and famous in China, and become a characteristic base of fostering talents and academic research..
